Use the results, but check them

BracketPrintout is built to be accurate and is tested against known reference values. It is still software written by people, running in a browser we do not control, on input we cannot see. Treat every result as a well-informed starting point rather than an authority.

Before you rely on a result for anything that matters — money owed to someone, a legal or tax position, a medical decision, a machined part, a navigational fix — check it against a second source.

Specific limits of this site

A draw produced here follows the standard knockout construction: the field is rounded up to the next power of two, entrants are placed in the classic seeding order, and the remaining slots become byes given to the top seeds. Many competitions have their own regulations about seeding, byes, geographical or club separation, and re-draws. Where they do, those regulations govern and this site does not.

Seeding here uses the order you supply. It does not know any ranking, rating or ladder, and it makes no judgement about who should be seeded where — if the list is in the wrong order, the draw is in the wrong order.

A random draw is shuffled by your browser's own random number source. It is suitable for a club night or an office competition. It is not certified random, has not been tested by anybody, and must not be used where the fairness of the draw carries legal or financial weight.

Match counts, round counts and bye counts shown on this site are arithmetic facts about single-elimination brackets and are correct as stated. Nothing here schedules those matches, allocates courts or accounts for a competition's own rest requirements.

Entrant lists typed into this site are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted. Closing the tab discards them, which also means nothing is saved for you: print the bracket before you leave the page.

Printed output depends on your browser, your printer and your paper size. A bracket is much wider than it is tall, so print in landscape and check one sheet before you print a set.
